Minnesota is a direct-access state so you do not need a referral to receive treatment from a physical therapist. I am able to communicate with and send updates to your provider with your permission. If you plan to use out-of-network benefits, I encourage you to contact your insurance company prior to your first visit to determine if a referral or pre-approval is required.

I am out-of-network with all commercial insurance plans, including Medicare and Medicaid. I do accept HSA, FSA, all major credit cards, and personal checks and am happy to provide you with a superbill (itemized document) that has the necessary information to submit to your insurance company. Many people do receive reimbursement for out-of-network physical therapy services and the amount reimbursed will depend on your individual plan for out-of-network benefits. I encourage you to call your insurance provider and find out what your plan offers.

No, you may run at a pace of your choosing and total amount of running time is generally less than 10 minutes. I start the analysis with clients running at an easy pace for them. I often analyze more than one pace, depending on the goals of the runner.

While not required, tighter shorts work best for the analysis. Please avoid clothing that has a lot of reflective markings as we will be required to cover those markings with tape. Wear your usual running shoes. Avoid putting lotion on prior to your visit. Minimum height to undergo running gait analysis is 4 feet tall.

I generally see clients for fewer visits than when treated under commercial insurance plans. The number of recommended follow-up visits will vary with your schedule, goals, and if you are recovering from an injury.  Following your initial evaluation, I will provide you an individualized plan.  Some clients who want to pursue more intensive gait retraining may return weekly or every 2 weeks, others may work on strengthening, mobility and gait drills on their own and return in 3-4 weeks.  Many clients only need 2 to 5 visits to feel substantially better.

I am conveniently located near the intersection of I-494 and Highway 100 in the Guided Health Building at 7250 Metro Boulevard Suite 100 in Edina, MN 55439. The building will say Guided Health on the outside. I am located on the first floor.
